Hi!
May I present every bomber-crew´s best friends;
"Bonnie"
"Jumpin´-Jacques"
...and "Lil´Butch"
All three models are PLATZ P-51D´s (as you might have guessed by now :-) )
and they were "testbenches" for learning how to use Alclad paints.
I painted them in Alclad Aluminium, handled them with my bare hands (NO gloves!!!),
masked with Tamiya tape, used micro-set and -sol liberally, and the paint took this abuse perfectly!
Oh, they are all in 1/144 scale!
Don´t believe me?
Very nice little kits!
Greetings!
Stefan E

Nice one Stefan!!
Theyre great little Mustangs
Fabulous detail for such a small scale. I think I might even look out for a couple of these myself. They look like lots of fun!
Well done

I thought they were 1/72 when i first saw them.
Great work on such a small scale. The decals must have been interesting to apply.
For a first time using Alclad, the results are very good. I find Alclad one of the easiest paints to spray. Easy to clean up, will take a fair bit of abuse and produces a beautiful finish.
Great work Stefan.

Hi and Thanks to All!
These small kits were a delight to assemble!
It was more or less "snap together", just a very little amount of glue added.
No filling whatsoever, wich had been a disaster in this small scale and very little light sanding.
The wing-roots are neither filled nor sanded, the fit was sooo perfect!
The decals come from Cartograph and responded very well on micro-set and -sol.
After just a couple of minutes they settled down, no silvering or decal film visible, even the spinner/prop decals fitted and worked perfectly!
Only things i painted was Aluminium Overall and Olive drab on anti-glare panels, the red nose/tail and yellow wingbands on Bunnie and the blue fin, nose and wingtips on JJ and the yellow spinner on Butch.
Everything else is supplied as decals!
This is lovley little kits, you get two in each box and they´re cheap enough to buy many of!
PLATZ have several boxes with P-51D Mustangs, Fw 190D-9 and there´s more kits on the way!
Greetings!
