I've heard that Hornby may be trying to salvage the name.

I'd been following the sad story over in the General Modelling section - but I hadn't heard that Hornby might be coming to the rescue. Good news for the Humbrol & Airfix staff and their families if something can be worked out.

I hope that Airfix never disappear from the market. They´re part of the history of this great hobbie. I knew the Airfix kits in the mid 60´s and they were part of my childhood. Best wishes to Airfix & Humbol
