Hi all

As a review site, it goes without saying that we do our best to cover the latest kits. The market's changed since I was a kid. Back then, there were far fewer manufacturers, but you could virtually count on every Airfix and Revell model always being available. Now, it seems much more of a "grab it while you can" business - particularly with the rise of aftermarket sets timed to coincide with major kit launches.

I'm afraid I can't resist grabbing new stuff as soon as it comes out - there's no doubt I suffer from NRS. But how about you? Do you feel the pressure to get kits while they're "hot"?

All the best

Sure do Merlin and it doesn't make me popular with the "War Office" I can tell you

I find reading about new kits or accessories on the net or in magazines, especially if they're well done, get me keen to purchase.

Trouble is, I'm invariably working on something else, so the new kit gets added to the stash. I sometimes look at said stash and can't rekindle the enthusiasm that made me buy.

I go in phases though, so one day I'll get around to them all........(all pigs fed and ready to fly !)

Cheers

JackFlash to Aeroscale Base...

Greetings base, I too feel the urge to get new issues of kits. It is surprising what is out there now. The market has really changed. The supply is limited and the companies use that to re-release molds with new decals. I am good for that too. Still budget minded modelers will get what they want. If they can't afford it there is always e-bay . I even have a fleamarket corner on my website.

Although Airfix may be in defib...I haven't noticed anymore Airfix kits jumping off my shelves. No one in the WWI crowd seems to be too worried...at least yet. I will continue to buy what I want to build. Its references that people seem to really lack. The internet has made it easy to get knowledge but so much of it out there is prop fodder. There are probably two maybe three sites that I can rely on for good information. But a single image and an optivisor is worth a thousand words.

JackFlash out bound at Angels Five.

I suffer from this also, with the added malady of re-issue-relaspe.

Interesting topic, Rowan.

I've got to say I'm pretty fortunate in that way that I don't suffer from NRS. I generally like to let others "work out the kinks" first.

The only ailment I suffer from is FIM (Foot In Mouth) :-) sometimes I'll even try to fit both feet in! :-) :-)

Your right about that one, kits seem to come and go fast, just a couple years back, you could get many of the mongram 1/48 kits like the wildcat, mosquito, hell cat, kingfisher..now there are no where to be seen. Buy while you can!

Oww, lets stop here, I am getting a bit wild, don't I

No! Nice one Drabslab!

I don't know about being able to sell the resulting database - but it would be a great resource for the Kitmaker Network to make available. It's definitely worth putting into the "suggestions box" - I'll make sure Staff_Jim reads your idea.

All the best
