So far I only saw ww1 fighter planes within this section, so to make a little change I decided to show some pictures of my latest build the Spirit of St. Louis, a brand new kit from Revell.
It's one of those "shake and bake" kits as far as I am concerned. Very easy to make and perfect fitting. A nice easy build between the hard works of rigging and Lozenge applying. Revell added decals voor the parts around the engine. Although not completely realistic I decided to use them anyway.
I placed the kit on one of the old FROG wall brackets and placed the whole thing on the wall of my toilet. So it's exhibited the same way as the original.
On the backgorund there's a Winnie Mae, a 1950's kit from Lindberg which I built ages ago.
Greetings, Nico Teunissen

Looks good.
Looks like those nose decals snuggled down nicely.

lovley machine, timeless and a real beuty. You did a very good work on that, and some real good photos.
The only thing I do not like is that decal in the front. As you say "Although not completely realistic " I agree, but never seen somthing better . The same problems in some Sopwithcowlings.
very nice

Back in the day they knew how to design good looking aircrafts, cars, motorcycles, ships.....they had the right spirit, something that designers lack today in my honest opinion.....
Nice looking girls Nico!

Hi Nico!
I didn't knew the original "Spirit of St Louis" was exhibited in a toilet! :-)
Anyway, It's nice to see an aircraft without camouflage from time to time!

I totally agree, and that is why I not only build modelkits of olb biplanes, but also drive an antique car and like to spend my holiday in Cuba
