Hi, this is my first contribution on this forum. Here it is, my 1/48 He-219 from Tamiya, with added CMK engine and Eduard PE parts. Paited with Gunze acrylic paints. Hope you like it.

Excellent workmanship on your 219, the base idea is effective, I built the same kit in US markings sometime ago, plan to do another one day with all the AM goodies.

Hi Grega!
That's a beautifull model!
I like the subtle paintjob (freehand?) and the details such as the bar that holds the canopy in place and the "see through" effect of the engine on the third picture! Superb work!
I hope to see many models from you here!

Hi Grega!
No I don´t like it, I simply LOVE it!
This is one of the very best builds i have ever seen on this kit!
Finish, all those small details, panel lines, weathering, the nice base, everything is very, very nicley done!
Top Notch!
You have got the panel lines so nice and subtley, looks very realistic!
What colors did you use for the panel lines?
Did you spray the pattern freehand?
Usually you can see much overdone, very dark, black lines on a light grey plane and it looks like a 3-D drawing, and that looks just awful! (MY opinion! )
I rate your He-219 very high and hope we will see more of your builds here!
Cheers!

I really like this!
The mottle effect is great,Id like to know how you did it as well, and the open inspection covers and canopy really set it off well.
Oh ,,and the base is a very nice touch as well.
Looking forward to seeing many more in the future.

Thanks for the positive comments!
Where to start. I spreyed mottling freehand. It took me almost 4 hours to complete it. I used really thin mix of paint to avoid splattering.
For the panel lines i used different washes. Mainly raw umber mixed with burnt sienna and/or a tad of black. So when you look at the model closely, not all the panel lines are the same colour.
... and yes, there are some flaws. I'm not happy with the canopy, as the eduard masks didn't stick that well. So please, DON'T ever use vinyl masks from Eduard.
Those yellow ones are great.

An absolutely beautiful build. Definately one to be really proud of. If I may ask, what did you use for the grass?
Thanks,
Leon

Hi Grega, welcome to Aeroscale
A great looking He 219, I'm building one of these, anything that I should look out for? Did you use the kit cockpit? I'm using an Aires resin one.

Outstanding job. Your airbrush work looks very nice. The antenna array looks very well done. Very nice and neat. Great job, Wingman out.

I used static grass for railroad builds. I made base, paint it in earth tones, then applied a mix of white glue and water on it, sprinkle it with grass, wait a minute and then blew on it to make it stand up. Then i finshed it off with some airbrushing to match the tone of the grass. That's it.
Oh, i did use a kit cockpit, but i added PE set from Eduard. Resin set from aires is better, but then you have to insert some weight somewhere in front, otherwise you will end up with a tailsitter.

love the detail and especially the paint job.
What was your technique?

The mottling was done freehand with my brand new H&S Evolution with 0.2 mm
nozzle. It took me a while to figure out the right consistency of the paint, then it was pretty easy job. I used Gunze paints, and they are perfect to do that kind of work.

Gunze RLM 76. Acrylic paint. I switched to Gunze and Tamiya acrylics a few years ago and i never used anything but that.
