Polikarpov I-16 Royal ClassPosted: Wednesday, September 27, 2006 - 02:49 AM UTC
Royal Class! These are words wich make all aircraft modeler's hearts beat faster. This time it's the turn of the famous Polikarpov I-16 to be boxed by Eduard in a limited edition set full of high quality injected plastic. And the kit has much more to offer!

Hi Jean-Luc
Awesome review - and probably NOT what I wanted to come home to! :-) You've started a real battle between me and my wallet! There was me thinking "I've built an I-16!", but this has "Gotta have! " written all over it!
All the best
Rowan

Nice review Jean-Luc, I've printed it up, and placed it in the box, as I'll never remember everything you wrote about the instructional errors.
Thanks for making my life a little easier.

Hi Dave and Rowan!
Dave, I hope I'm not wrong with my conclusions about the errors in the instructions. I'm not an I-16 specialist. Fact is that Eduard should be more careful with their instruction booklets. I worked for some time in an advertising agency and I know proof-reading is very, very, very important! In fact, I don't know how they could miss these "typos" in the Royal Class kits!
Rowan... sorry for your wallet! :-) But if the kit is good...

Jean-Luc, my ex-mother-in-law was a proof reader for a publishing house. So she got a major portion of some of the best sellers manuscripts, it was amazing the poor spelling and grammar used on those by some really top named authors. ( I won't mention any of their names!) but when the ex-wife and I would visit her, we would have a few laughs over the latest manuscripts spelling errors from one particular author who's books usually made the big screen. Back before Word and spell check, and done on probably an antique Underwood typewriter! :-)
