Hello all;
I have a 1/48 Voodoo and it's time to pant. I cleaned and primered it. Then I thined and sprayed Model Master Aircraft Gray on it. It sheets off flat surfaces and pools in details. I thinned it with MM thinner, its the Acyrel stuff. I spray at 15 to 20 psi with a double action Bager. The primer is Tamiya gray and has dryed for 20 hrs. This is the same thing the paint did on bare plastic. Help .....
Thanks SG61 .....................

Is the primer/undercoat quite glossy?
If so you could try lightly abrading the surface to give the paint a key.......
Mind you, if its doing the same on bare plastic it could just be a duff jar of modelmaster.

Mitch,
My best guess would either be over thinning, incompatible thinner or thinner is too slowly evaporating. The easiest way to determine if it is a thinner problem is to eliminate it all together. Try spraying the Aircraft Gray with no thinning. You may need to turn up the air pressure to atomize properly. If you get good results straight from the bottle, try faster acrylic thinner such as isopropyl alcohol.

Try to thin the paint with pure alcohol in a 60 paint / 50 alc. rate.
I always thin the MM acrylic paint with alcohol.
