Curtiss CW-22B FalconPosted: Monday, October 16, 2006 - 12:29 AM UTC
Planet Models just released a nice 1/48 scale Falcon kit. Not the one you are thinking of, but the little know Curtiss Model-22 trainer wich was used during WWII and even saw combat against the Japanese with the Dutch East Indies Air Force. I can''t help myself, I just like those planes who didn''t quite make it into the Hall of Fame of Aircraft history...

Hi Jean-Luc
Hmmm - I'm seriously tempted to find room in my stash for this one! I almost bought the Falcon version last time I was in Hannants - but you got yours at a great price... what's your source?
All the best

Hi Rowan!
Yes I compared the prices first and noticed a big difference between Hannants and "my source". It's a German shop called Moduni. I know Steffen (alpha_tango) is buying there too. They must have some of the best prices for Czech products and of course Revell. And they also have products not available at Hannants.
I think it's best to have more than one adress to buy kits anyway. Like we say in France: "il ne faut pas mettre tous ses oeufs dans le même panier"

Hi Jean-Luc
I only asked because I know you're a regular Hannants-user. We have exactly the same phase in English (I wonder if it's the same in German). Inspired by your example, I just checked one of my other sources - Modelimex - and they have it fractionally cheaper still. Of course, it's always imortant to take the cost of P&P into account (and import duties, if applicable) when shopping internationally, but it's definitely worth shopping around - while searching for this I found a few real bargains which I'll try to review once work quietens down a bit.
All the best
