I've built JU88s from 1/144th thru the 1/48th Hobbycraft kit, including the Lindberg 1/6x kit, but never built the old AMT 1/48th JU88 kit from the 70's.
Realize that all known 1/48th JU88 kits have been surpassed by the DML 1/48th JU88 kits, but... has anyone built the old AMT kit - and how does it compare to say the old Hobbycraft 1/48th JU88 kit?
Thanks!

Anyone here built the ancient 1/48 AMT JU88A?

Hi Skip
If I remember rightly, the talk at the time was that Hobbycraft kit was basically a re-box of the old AMT Ju-88 - so I think you've actually built it by default.
All the best

Thanks for the reply Rowan, but... IIRC, the 1/48th H'Craft JU88 was all new tool at the time, and the A/C mags at the time went ga-ga over it being so "good".
Well, good was relative given that there wasn't any other injected 1/48th competition.
But at least it fit together OK for the most part, which was my biggest issue with the DML/Promodeler/Hasegawa 1/48 JU88 - the lousy fit.
Which is why I was curious over the old AMT 1/48th JU88 from the 70's since my ancient eyes can't handle 1/72nd canopy frames any more despite Hasegawa's new JU88 being so tempting.
Also - - buyer-beware; the H'Craft JU88 is appearing in a number of off-branded boxes these days.

LOL! What!
It was hideous! And the mags over here weren't shy of saying so. Admittedly, it was all that was available since the withdrawal of the AMT kit...
I've got one stashed away... I'll see if there's any tell-tale giveaways - but the rumour-mill in the UK definitely said it was the ex-AMT kit.

Thanks in advance to looking to see if the 2 kits are in fact the same!
The model mags here that I know of for sure was the old "Scale Modeler", and I think FSM may have done a mini-review as well.
