Post your entries for the MOM for November here.
Please read the following.
1. Do not forget to add information about the model, voters will be encouraged to check this out before voting and it may influence their vote. New.......please put the info about your model in one place. I will only copy the first set of information to put in the gallery, so if you add a piece before each picture only the first part (above the first pic) will be copied.
2. Only post 3 pics, no composites and no pics of real aircraft (even for comparison)
3. Any model of an aircraft, from any era in any scale is eligible
4. Entry will be open until the 15th or 16th
5. NEW Your pics MUST be a maximum of 750 pixels wide. (if you aren't able to alter the size then send them to me and I can do it for you. Alternatively I may be able to copy the pic, size and replace it. Any pics over this size will have to be deleted (I do not want to have to do this)
6. Also, Please comply with this
Please rename your pics using a number followed by your CALLSIGN. By this I mean the file name, this is because:
a. When I copy the pics into a folder on my hard drive I have to copy them with the original filename (so I can't change them when I copy them)
b. So that they stay together in the gallery and so that I don't have to name each pic and so they appear in the order in which they were posted I have to re-name each pic with the member’s callsign. You may imagine what it's like trying to get the 3 pics from each member together (50-60 pics in total with all sorts of file names and some not matching their mates).
A further explanation: When you take the pic it will be given a file name, by the camera. When you open the pic on your PC, right click on it and choose "change name" change the name of the pic to a number (001) followed by your Callsign (Holdfast). the pic is now re-named 001Holdfast (or your number and callsign) .
So if you use a file name that begins with a number and has your Callsign you will save me about 2 hours work
For example my 3 pics could be 001Holdfast, 002Holdfast and 003Holdfast. I hope this is clear
Lets see if we can get an even better turn out this month and for the coming year.
Entry will close on the 15th or 16th and I will start the voting thread as soon as possible after that.
[b]There will be a prize to the winning entry of a "Harricature," a caricature of that entry drawn by Harri (Jetprovost), who also does comissions.

Heres my entry for November MoM.
Its the PM Models Sea Fury in 1:72
This was built for the Suez Campaign in Egyptian Markings.
Out of the box apart from exhaust pipes from plastic rod and loads of filler. Its sprayed in various shades of Alclad. The decals are from an aftermarket set and the white stripes/green bands are hand painted.
After all the washes had been done I sprayed it with a 10-1 Thinners/Buff mix to blend everything together and give it the appearance of an aircraft operating in very dusty combat conditions.
Good luck everyone!

This is Hasegawa's 1/48th MKIXc I converted to a MKVIII and my very first Spitfire. The plane belonged to Lt. Bill Skinner, 308 FS, 31st FG, Italy, 1943. I made minor changes to the wings as indicated in my references and added 4mm to the rear fuselage and 1.5mm to the front to correct the controversial length problem. Paint is Model Master enamels done with frisket masks. Weather is Tamiya acryls and Poly Scale flat. Decals are Super Scale Int.

My entry for November is the Eduard 1:48 Pfalz D.III.a, built Out Of The Box. I used E-Z Line for the rigging. This is the "Weekend" edition of the Eduard kit, meaning no PE or resin detail parts, and only one set of decal markings. Airbrushed with Testor's Model Master Acryl acrylics with an Iwata HP-C aitrbrush.

I hope you like it.

My entry is hasegawa's 1/48 ki-84. It is part of the duel between me, winters1 and VonCuda.
Additions include parts of the eduard pe zoom set (very happy with the improved seat), eduard painted belts, true detail wheels, some solder in the engine, and monofilament thread for antenae.
A base coat of floquil old silver was laid down and then coats of tamiya acrylics were applied and chipped using various methods.
Markings (with the exception of the numbers and bunny) were masked and painted. The #s and bunny came from the older tamiya kit.
Weathering was done with a sludge wash of water+polyscale paint+liquid dish detergent and a post shading of very diluted mix of tamiya red/brown and black.
The pilot also came from the tamiya ki-84 kit and was painted with tamiya acrylics and retarder to help prevent brush strokes. The base is stained and then has dirt and woodland scenics flocking white glued to it.
Thanks for looking. I hope you enjoy it.

ATOPLU...Very nice Wurger!! I would only suggest that to be a proper Ramjagwer, that the requisite armor plates be added to the fuselage on either side of the cockpit. NIcely done though, overall.

Another bumper crop of excellent models so far.
Keep this up, and I'll really short circuit the few remaining brain cells I have deciding. :-) :-)

My entry for November MOM is Hasegawa's 1:72 B-239 Buffalo.
This plane I built originally for FUMS was flown by Finland's all time highest scoring ace, Ilmari Juutilainen. With 437 combat flights and 94 official victories flying Fokker D.XXI, Brewster B-239, and Messerschmitt Bf-109 fighters, he was one of the four soldiers to be awarded the Mannerheim Cross twice. With this particular plane, BW-364, he shot down 28 enemy aircraft.
And what makes his story even more remarkable, is the fact that he was never hit by enemy fighters.
I built the model from Hasegawa's 1:72 scale kit. The kit cockpit was pretty spartan so I used Pavla's cockpit and canopy set. Actually, the cockpit was for an F2A-2, so I modified the seat by sanding off the shoulder harness, and added an armor plate made from scrap PE (the plate provided in the Hasegawa kit was way too thick and had an ugly pin ejector mark in the middle). The resin instrument panel was also wrong for B-239, so I cut off the lower panel and replaced it with the corresponding part cut from the Hasegawa kit part. The kit engine was good and I enhanced it with wiring made from thin metal wire.
The vac-form canopy provided in the Pavla set was ideal for displaying an open canopy so that's what I did.
The fuselage wheel wells were empty, so I built some framework there to make the area look busier, added brake lines to the landing gear legs, filled the extra landing light under the wing, and addded the antenna wire made from monofilament fishing line.
The model was painted with Xtracrylics and Vallejo acrylics. Preshading was done with thinned black paint and a paintbrush instead of airbrushing. The kit decals were good so I used them. I added some weathering with pastels and did paint chips with a small brush.
I hope you like it

Before voting kicks off on this and since we are not supposed to leave comments in that thread, I just want to say...
Wow, there are some really nice models this month. There are quite a few that I really, really wish I could see in person to truly admire all the hard work and extra care that obviously went in to them.
Good job and good luck to all.
Leon

Yep, nearly forgot again, I've been really busy getting ready for the Scale Modelworld show at Telford and I 've not been able to do any modelling since before September. So my apologies for not entering something new, I just haven't got the time to photograph owt. I will try and add something new in Decembers MOM.
So my entry this month is Hobbycrafts Hawker Sea Fury, Painted with Extra colour paints and an artist oil wash, decals are by Xtradecal. I added a scratch built arrester hook and the fin antenna is a bristle from a glue brush, the pito tube was replaced with stanlees tubing and wire and the the nav lights were cut out and replaced with clear sprue, drilled from behind and red/blue clear paint added to represent coloured bulbs.

With the Scale Modelworld show at Telford happening this week end and I'm building a new stand for the IPMS-UK Kitmaker branch, which is showing there. It is more than likely that I won't have time to start the voting thread (I haven't yet copied the entries to put into a file in the gallery, which takes some time, partly because I almost forgot about the MOM). I'm going to be a day behind in my preperations, the paint needs a second coat and this new branch stand must take priority. I will do it if I get the chance, if not it will be after Telford. This shouldn't cause any major problems, it will just give you more time to decide on your choices. There is a slim possibility that I can do it from Telford via our "internet cafe" which we are setting up there
Thanks for all the fantastic entries guys, just be patient

Hi all
i hope this entry still counts ...
Yes another Fw 190 --- seems we have a fierce German combat this month.
It is Hasegawa's Focke-Wulf 190 A-3 in the camouflage and markings of Heinrich Krafft, Gruppenkommandeur of I./JG 51 in 1942 and recipient of the Knights Cross. Kraff was shot down in this aircraft and crash landed on 14.12.1942. He was killed either due to the forced landing or by enemy troops. The colour is described as dark green which could be everything from German or captured sources. Looking at the photos in Jagdfliegerverbände der Luftwaffe vol.9 part III I chose RLM 71. The yellow lower cowl is not sure but I liked the colour spot and it conforms with the modus operandi of I./JG 51 during that time (beside there is one photo which clearly shows it, but others are unclear about that .. exact date of all unknown)
The kit was built almost OOB but I added seat belts (eduard) and replaced the wheels with a Griffon set. I drilled out the guns. Then I ruined the canopy and had to replace it by one from the Eduard A-8; which has a spare due to the opened/closed alternatives. It does not fit 100% perfect, but it is good enough. Because of my accident I cheated a little and fit the aerial wire by computer (I will add one, but I feared to ruin another canopy ---- so I took the pictures first)
hope you like it
cheers
