On the side of this Polish Fokker D.VII from 1920 is supposedly written Bi-Ba-Bo. What does it mean? Is it the name of the of the character painted on the side of the aircraft. Is it a popular cartoon character from that era or might it represent the newly born ‘infant’ Polish State?
After digging around on the internet it seems that BiBaBo is associated with bowling clubs and nightclubs and bars and the name dates back to before WW I. They sound very Bohemian. (Apparently nobody is allowed to wear a dress, especially the women!) In Vladivostok a theatre –
“Designed by architect N.D.Fedoseyev and sponsored by local entrepreneurs brothers
Burlakov, Radov and Zimmerman, it was constructed in 1915. The theatre season was opened by one of the operettas of Franz Lehar (1870 -1948), a Hungurian (sic) composer of operettas. In addition to the theatre, the building used to house the Letuchaya Mysh (the Bat) and Bi-Ba-Bo cabarets which existed only until the Revolution. Among other futurists, N.Aseyev and D.Burlyuk used to rent premises here.”
And in Poland –
“This is a cabaret composed of pensioners and people living on disability benefits. It's been active since 1972 (!) and takes its name from a famous cabaret based in Lodz from 1898 to 1916 (i.e. under Tsarist Russian occupation until the Eastern Front brought the Germans to the city). The Lodz cabaret's repertoire came from Parisian street theatres.”
So perhaps it is the name for a type of Music Hall entertainment like Vaudeville or Burlesque? Usually I would expect there to be an entry in an online encyclopaedia for something like this explaining what it is but I cannot find anything.
Intriguingly, one find was a doll’s theatre in Moscow.

The third glove puppet on the top row is a white bear with a red cloak.
I also found a track on a CD by an Estonian band called Bibabo and some kind of connection to a Dutch acappella group.
So can any European cousin enlighten me as to what BiBaBo is exactly?
Can anyone suggest a link between the baby, the bear and the cabaret?
