I am just beginning a series of models in 1/72 scale to honor the memory of my father-in-law who was a US Marine pilot form 1940 through 1963. I have his early years log books. My intent is to build models to represent at least one of each type of aircraft he flew.....at least when I can get the kits or a reasonable facsimile of a kit. (For example, I plan to try to kit-bash a PV-1 kit into an R5O-4.)
To pull this off, I am going to need to locate a good supplier of decals in 1/72 that will cover most of this era. In particular, I want to customize the Bureau Number of each aircraft to the plane he actually flew.
Any recommendations as to a good source for these decals?
Thanks,
Dave
