Trumpeter 1:32 Messerschmitt Me-262 A-1a Completed
Finished up the "Schwalbe" this afternoon. I didn't keep track, but I estimate over 100 hours over the past month and a half. I used the Eduard PE Interior Detail Set, and added many scratchbuilt details to the starboard Junkers-Jumo 004B jet engine, undercarraige, and cannon bay. Airbrushed with Vallejo and custom-mixed Tamiya acrylics. No pre-shading or washes this time...just some post-fading on the individual panels. Model depicts a machine flown by Hauptmann Franz Schall, 10./JG.7 Enjoy!

Hi James,
Well done! Good looking birdie there.
Have you read my feature about building this model? If not, I would be interested in your comparing your experience with mine, such as fit problems.
Did you use the metal gear and vinyl tires?
That P/E set really helps the cockpit. What did you use for the wiring to the guns?

It looks really cool!! Very nice model!
I have one waiting for me in my pile of unbuild models. Really looking forward to it now! The colour scheme is quite striking.

Thanks Fred Rick!!! I haven't read your article, but I will. It'll be interesting to see if our experiences were similar. The Eduard PE is fantastic! I used fine wire bought at a craft store, then painted it. A pain, but worthwhile in the end!.
Cheers,
JK

Hi James!
A very nice Schwalbe!
You have done it justice with a very well detailed, clean, nice build!
Good job, mate!
Now I have to finish my Schwalbe that´s been waiting on the bench far too long!
Fred, I experienced exactly the same problems as you did!
The wing in my kit was´nt warped though.
But I had much more trouble with the engines and nacelles fit!
Cheers!
