Hmmmm........

I thought the pictures showed our lastes get together for a barbeque.
I distinctly remember you burning some of the burgers, while being busy showing your latest air victory and getting to exited, forgetting about them.....

Same plce next year? (I'll bring that barrel of 45 year old single malt whisky that you wanted....)

Without reading further, I have high hopes for this movie!

I am concerned with ...the RB is portrayed as a rebel against the establishment...; I recall from his recent bio that he was a consmate professional officer.

Well,

The colors may not be totally accurate (ahum) . At least they got the planes themselves pretty historically correct (for what I have seen untill now). Something which cannot be said for The Flyboys.

Greetings, Nico

Well sir there are three versions of this machine. One is the replica you see in the movie. It came from an article in the old Airfix magazine. Then better images surfaced some years ago and then the arguement was over what colours were used. The current view is that the black and white later had red letters "LO" applied.

Hi Stephen.
Thanks for the photos. They certainly are brightly coloured subjects!
I must admit Im very taken by the black and white triplane, and Im now planning to do mine in this scheme.
I found a couple more photos of it in the links you gave.
Is the writing on the elevators,,"du doch nicht"?
In my limited German I think this translates along the lines of,," not your turn yet"
Any idea how I could go about making a decal for that?
Im sure watching the film when it comes out will answer my question, but do you know if the underside would be painted in this fashion,or is there a generic underside colour for these planes?

Greetings Nigel;

If you do the movie version Du doch nicht!! can be used from Nico. If you do the version I posted the term is not used. By the way the statement is "Du doch nicht!! ...Certainly not you.!!"
