i mailny build armor but Im working on a diorama that includes a B-25 in the mediterenean theater for school . i have a few qeustions :

1 what B-25 model would have been used during mid 1942?
2. did b-25s "skip bomb" in the mediterenean?
3 which kits would be the best for the B-25 model? i am deciding whether to do a 1:48 scale or 1:72 scale
4. what would hhave been the common paint scheme?

thanks in advance

The B25 Mitchell b/c would have been used in the Mediterainian Theatre during '42 as for 'skip bombing' that would only apply from early '44 onwards. {I think it was mainly used by the USAAC in the PTO but I could be wrong}, As for the kits:

72 scale,
Hasegawa is the better choice for the B 25b/c version, an AM decal sheet by Zolt's for the Mitchell Family include the Mediterainian Theatre markings.

48 scale.
Go for the Italeri boxing of the Acc Min's B25 c/d, this particular kit includes the decal option for the Mediterainian Theatre of a USAAC unit based in Sicily in '43.

Hope this helps a little

I wrote the wrong brand name for the AM decals for the Mitchell, the 72 scale decal sheet is by Albertros Model Works, it has 2 subjects for the Mediterainian Theatre.

Hope this helps.

I would go for the Accurate miniatures b25c/d - boxed by Italeri. I have the Acc min boxing of this and it is a fantasticly detailed kit - if the instructions are the same as the acc min ones they are very detailed. If you get this PM me a photo of the instructions - if they are not the same i will send a copy of the acc min ones for your info if you'd like.

The instructions of either the Acc Min's B25's and the Italeri boxing are different, in part layout and construction but the detail of the two kits is exactly the same, produced in Korea, as for the paint schemes, that depends on the Factory Finished scheme prior to delivery at the time.

Olive Brab over Neutral Grey
Olive Drab / Sand over Neatral Grey
Olive Drab / Sand over Asure Blue {the US mix is different to the RAF mix}
Sand over Azure Blue.

Model Master enamels #2053 for ANA 616 Sand, this offen shows a pinkish hue in most colour prints of Mediterainian B 25's, for the US mix of Azure Blue I have the ratio of colours needed for this mix if you need it.

Rob

I seem to keep picking your brains - the mix for azure blue would be helpful.

Cheers Rob

My Mitchell is Boxed with Dirty Dora decals, so i'm gonna build it OOB as Dirty Dora.

But who knows what the next one will be.
