Hi all.
:-) :-)
This is part of my latest "build".

Its the Tweenies Spaceship 1:1 for the CBeebies Live tour 2006/7.
Its all together and primed. Some minor welding to be done (not by me),and then its down to be painted on Sunday night.
Just 20 lights to attach plus 2 smoke machines and fans.
Should look good when its finished.
Comments and advice for future spaceship builds welcome!
:-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Hi Nigel!

Fantastic looking... Spaceship? This should belong to Modelgeek, not Aeroscale! I'll ask Rowan to move this thread as soon as possible...

This is not serious! Nigel you are under bad influence I think! #:-)

Allright. Quite heavy though, huh?

But now I come to think of the four engined "Bomber"-lighting bridge that Motörhead used on tour in the eighties. So I'll probably have to dig up my MP3's and pour some good ole heavy metal on my colleagues at the office. If they get mad, I'll just send them to you Nigel :-) :-)

Hi Tony.
Its basically made out of the same alluminium truss as the famous Motorhead Bomber. There have been about 4 of them over the years.I toured with Motorhead for a long time and know "the bomber" very well.A good friend of mine designed it. So yeah,,if anyone complains just send them over.As someone famously once said,,," We Are The Roadcrew".
And yes,,Ive got the scars to prove it!
Heres an end of tour photo from a Motorhead/Sepultura tour a couple of years ago.Im hiding near the back

The spaceship is only a small part of the show Im working on at the moment.
Heres another part of it

It'll take us about 4 hours to get all this in the air on a normal day!

Ok I guess your profession, and also your participation here, is a result of the roadie-career then.

You don't need your ears to work lights, nor to chat on a keyboard. :-) :-)

Rock on!

Hi guys
Well,,,the spaceship is finished and rehearsals are over. Its time to hit the road properly!
Not only does it fly ,its also fitted now with smoke machines and pyrotechnics!

The spaceship is only a small part of the show.
Heres a general photo of the lighting rig.You can see the spaceship at the back by the white drapes.

Of course,,all these lights need to be plugged in.
This is my world!

And before you all ask,,,,,yes,,I DO know what every switch and wire does!

Thanks for showing the interest guys. Its nice to be able to share a little part of what I do to pay the bills.
Any volunteers to help load it on and off trucks every night would be appreciated :-)

Typical isnt it. The only time on the tour I have guests,,( Betheyn Yogurt and young Jordan),,we have a problem and I have to run up the truss!
Nice pics Andy,,
