:-) Finished this today, it is the Airfix 1/48 Supermarine Spitfire F22, built OOB except for the seat belts which are PE and Port bottle foil and the sliding part of the canopy which is a Squadron vac-form. The finish is Humbrol silver. :-)
This is an excellant kit, I have another, to do as a F24 plus a Seafire Fr46/47

Ever thought of doing an ALCLAD II finish?
Might make it look even more realistic? Alclad II is available in the UK for about £4.00p from Hannants in Colindale, London.
Exteremly good finishes if used right. You can vary each and every different panel.
I like the model though, very good.

Nice one Mal :-) I hope you can get me to this level of finish
I like the paint finish on the body and the wings and the panel detail. Would the prop blades be as glossy as this (not a criticism, just a question )
I'd like to see a pic of the cockpit :-)

Hi Martin,
Like this?
The Spitfire F22 was painted and not left in NMF.
Roger I honestley don't know, but from my only reference, it looks like it. I've been debating the point myself :-)

Holdfast
I'm just an OD armor guy, so what do I know about aircraft?--- not much,--- but I do know when I see model pics that I find very enjoyable for viewing, and this Spitfire fits the bill. Thanks for the pics.
ps: It there's a plane that can be painted OD, I just might give it a try (lol)

The silver finish makes it look like a Mustang...
Awesome Spit though.
I would love to, as would others, see some interior/closeup shots.
Nice Work!
