I've recently acquired an interest in the aircraft used by the French military just before WWII up through the 1940 invasion and subsequent battles. So I've started a list of the 1:48 kits that have been produced in plastic (mainly because I don't know too much of the resin manufacturers), and I'm trying to group them into my own classifications of A/C definitely used by the French forces, and those that were in the prototype stage or too late to be used until after the Vichy government was formed.

Here's the list so far:

1) Aircraft I'm certain battled the Germans
Breguet 693 (F-M)
Hawk 75 (Academy)
Latecoere 298 (Azur)
Loire 130M (Azur)
Loire-Nieuport LN 40/401(Special Hobby)
Loire-Nieuport LN411(Azur)
Morane-Saulnier M.S. 406 (C-A)
Potez 631(Azur)

2) Aircraft that may've been used by the L'Armée de l'Air before the end
Marcel Bloch MB-152 (C-A)
Martin 167 (Maryland) (F-M and Koster)

3) Aircraft that were prototypes or didn't reach front-line units
[auto-censored]nal VG-33 (Azur and F-M)
[auto-censored]nal VG-39 (Azur and F-M)
Marcel Bloch MB-155 (C-A)

Can anyone correct me, add to my lists, and also inform me on good reference materials that are available on the subject?

Thanks in advance!

Thank you both for the links and the updated information. I don't know why, but I had forgotten about the Tamiya D 520.

I just recently picked up the Azur Potez 631, and am very implressed with the kit, so where there is a choice between Azur and F-M, I'll probably go with Azur

Jean-Luc, I am interested in more info on the F-M Breguet 693; I really like the lines of that aircraft, so am wondering how much of a bear this kit would be to assemble. The only F-M kit I have currently is the Halifax, and except for the damaged clear parts, it doesn't look that bad Just something that needs a little TLC to build, like most of my kits

Anyway, thanks again, and I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday.

Cheers
