Hi guys, i'm itching to get started on my first 1/48 Douglas A 1-H. got my tools and paints/spray ready. But the question dat's delaying my work is.....

1) what to do first? fix up the fuselage (is it wat u call the main body of a plane?) and then the wings. then spray it.
2) or finish fixing the entire plane and then spray it?

thanks in advance.

Hi,

at first, i alway's fix the cockpit, paint it en then, glue it in the fuselage.

Put the fuselage half's togheter, and the wings.

when the whole plane takes shape, i mean, the fuselage, wings and eventually the stabelizers are glued , then i will put a primer on it en then paint the whole plane.

landinggears, and other detail stuff, like weapons and or antenna's come's at last.

I hope you're question is answered, at this way.

I work very similar to Dacala.

1 Interior build and paint.
2 Main assembly - wings fuselage paint that (mask off the cockpit landing lights etc)
3 Hand paint or separately paint landing gear doors and any other piece that requires the same exterior color.
4 paint larger sub-assemblies
5 assemble
6 touch up
7 weather it

Yeah, I work like the other two guys. It is much easier to get a nice consistent finish if you paint after the main shape of the plane is finished. Especially if you are doing some kind of camouflage.

Good luck with the plane
