I'm in the mood to build a SBD, not sure though what version. But the problem is that most pictures of SBD's show them in paintschemes with white belly. But I'm not to kean on this.
So, is there any other paint options that I could do? Doesn't need to be an american aircraft.
Thankful for answer.

You could always do it as an A-24 which was o.d. green over neutral gray. Like mine:

But it's just as drab. Or, you could do an early marine SBD-1 with the natural metal finish and bright yellow wings.

What version do you have? I must agree with Justen. The A-24 and the early yellow SBD-1 will help brighten out the colors. If you plan to make the A-24, it's nothing more than removing the landing gear from your -5.

Don't acctaully have any kit yet, so version is still undecided.

Get Trumpeter's -1. You won't regret it

I have read somewhere that Royal Navy was got some SBD-5, but they where never used in service, so perhaps this would be an option, or they whould have been in US camo?

Found a cheap A.M SBD-5 on ebay, so the kit should be on it's way soon, but still undecided on what to do. Got one idea from playing Pacific Fighters, where you can find some skins of the SBD posing as Australian Wirraways.

I know that there were several SBDs (or A-24s?) operated by the Free French airforce in the latter part of 1944. Can't find anything definitive on the net yet...
Didn't the old Matchbox 1:32 Scale Dauntless have an optional scheme for one?
Update; just found this http://frenchnavy.free.fr/aircraft/dauntless/dauntless.htm
The photo isn't a great one, but , with some digging it may be possible to find more. The underside may still be white...
