Okay, guys .... I'm typically an armor builder, but recently decided to build my first 1:48 scale aircraft in more than six years. It's the Tamiya kit, with Vallejo Model Color acrylics, and weathered with oils and pastels. Let me know what you think as I can always use some constructive criticsm.

Very nice - I really like the model. Good job
The swastika on the tail looks a little big. Is it this big according to a specific profile? Or maybe I am wrong?

Jesper,
Yes, I thought the large swastika was "unique", as well. According to AeroMaster it was the proper marking to use for the Fw190D9 from II./JG26 that flew from Halle airfield in May, 1945.
And Tuomas, building aircraft is an extremely pleasant change of pace from armor. It satisfies the modeler in me that requires color!
Thanks for the input!

It looks great especially after such a long break from doing aircraft. Do you find having a brak from one genre and doing another genre helps keep the intrest in modelling going?

There's no question that a diverse project base keeps the creative juices flowing! I love armor for various reasons, but I love building and painting aircraft for as many different reasons.
Thanks,
