I bought myself (as a little side project) over Christmas the Revell 1/72 Lavochkin LA-5 FN and i would like to do the decal scheme for aircraft 06. But unfortunately the Revell colour scheme is a bit vague (as per their mix your own colour standard) when it comes to the Camo for the aircraft.
Does anyone know what the colours are supposed to be? I'm hoping to use Xtracolor or Xtracrylics paint.

Hi Allen. I finished one myself lately, here is the link. Actually I made up the colors too but the light grey is probably close to RLM 76 which I used and the underside is something like Humbrol Matt 65. Have fun oh and be careful about the wing attachment. There is a big gap left when you assemble it. Other than that it is almost a problemless model.

Hi Allen
Well, I am not an expert in this area, but maybe try to get the book by Eric Pilawski (if you plan to do more soviet fighters) at least you could visit his site:
http://vvs.hobbyvista.com/ [
lots of interesting stuff there!!
if you are just after the colours, maybe have a look at this (instructions of the Vector La-5FN from http://www.neomega-resin.com/vector/kits.htm ):
these colours are available as enamels from White Ensign Models or you mix your own shades
HTH
cheers
Steffen

Unfortunately, WEM colors has WRONG shadows of colors and I has big debate with Eric about it
http://vvs.hobbyvista.com/Forum//showthread.php?tid=396
http://vvs.hobbyvista.com/Forum//showthread.php?tid=468
Note that AMT 11/12 can not contains any green shadows as WEM paint
You can see different between fotos in that topics and on this instruction of this Vector La-5FN -
better use this picture as reference
Good luck!

Privjet Michail
you are right that there should be no green,
but I think this is a matter of scale effect (the WEM colours have none) and lighting while photography (I also have the problem that my photographs contain tooooo much yellow .. beside other miscolourings) .. see how the dark colour varies between the shots ..
I will definitely use the WEM stuff for my La-5 FN ... we'll see how it turns out (hope to get the etch parts soon so i can move on with this bird) ....
всего хорошего!

There is NO green in our AMT11/12--both are blue-greys. If you'd bother to get the paints, rather than relying on photos, you'd know this.

Hi all!
My Academy 1/48 La-7, painted with WEM Soviet WWII colors, looks close enough for me!
As John said, I can assure you that these paints are true blue-greys!
In fact WEM´s Soviet aircraft colors are by far the best I have ever seen so far!
Cheers!

I use WEM paints and find them superb. My Yak 9T has EXACTLY the same shades as Michaels above.
