Hello friends!
The last day of 2006 calls for a summary of this years building activities. I am quite happy myself, having finished three models this year. I guess many of you aren´t that impressed but for me three models is quite a lot!
So, here we go, all in 1/72:
1) Avon Sabre conversion based on the Academy Sabre with a High Planes fuselage. They were silver laquered in service so paint is Tamiya silver.
2) Academy P-51B with Eagle Strike decals for a captured aircraft. Bare metal finish using Vallejo water base metallics. I know, landing gear are mirrored. By me, even if it would be nice to blame the Germans since I assume that the aircraft was delivered to them without the manuals :-)
3) Academy T-6 Texan from the Suez group build
Great hopes for 2007: I aim for four models finished!
Happy New Year!
Magnus

Hi Magnus!
These are really nice models! All in 1/72? Wow, the result is excellent... except for the landing gears of course! :-)
I hope to see many more from you in 2007!
Here is my 2006 collection...
I managed to build 12 models like last year. This makes one per month! I will try to keep that rhythm in 2007 as well. I just noticed by watching the pics that I didn't built any U.S. or English plane in 2006! Uh! Sorry... I promise to build some models with stars and Brtish roundels next year!

Beautiful models there Magnus. The Sabre looks really nice, but of course all Sabres look nice to me, no matter what markings they are in .
I have no idea how many models i have completed this year, as i can't remember the first one of the year. I reckon i have completed about 20 models in various genres .

Great collections everyone and a fabulous advert for the Aeroscale site and Kitmaker in general.
Ok,,you asked for it,,here goes.
Apart from the last couple of weeks of December 05,2006 saw my return to modelling after a break of over 20 years and looking back it was a helluva year!
My builds, in order, were.
Airfix Spitfire Mk 1
Airfix P40 Kittyhawk,,(for Show Your Teeth Campaign)
Airfix Me 109
Airfix Mosquito
Airfix Hurricane Mk 1
Academy Fw190 Papagei Staffel
Special Hobby Spitfire Mk X Photo Recon
Tamiya P47 Bubbletop
Airfix Spitfire Mk 1
PM Models Sea Fury (for Suez Campaign)
Revell Sopwith Camel OOB
Revell Sopwith Camel Dazzle Camouflage
Revell Mk IIB Hurricane (for FUMS Campaign)
Academy Me109 (for Duel In The Sky Campaign)
All are in 1:72.
14 in total
with two kits being built twice.I love that Airfix Spit Mk I!!
Its been interesting looking back through the photos and picking out one of each model, and the progress and improvement Ive made over the 12 months has really surprised me.
Just for fun I put the P47 into a couple of competitions at shows during September and I was amazed to attain first a “Commended” and the week after a “3rd In Class”
September proved to be an amazing month as I won MoM with my little Camel.
As I head into 2007 and an enormous work schedule that’s going to keep me away from home for the first four months at least, I cant see me getting much done this year although I am working on a 120mm figure on days off in various hotel rooms around the country.
Fans of WWI aviation may be interested to know that the Dazzle Camel and its superb Harricature are due to be featured in the next edition of Cross and Cockade after being spotted on the IPMS Bulldogs stand at Scale Model World Telford.
Thanks for a great year everyone!
Model on!!!

My year 2006 can be pretty much described in a a single phrase, fighter under the midnight sun.
100% aircraft, 100% Finnish subjects, 7 models built, 6 of those for FUMS.
Well, actually these are what I got built in the second half of the year. The first 6 months I was in the army, which was quiet time in the modeling front for me. If I remember right, it was in May when I had a longer weekend-off when I started working a 1:72 scale hurricane with the intention of finishing the plane in the 5 days I had. This turned out to be one of those not-so-quick quickie builds! :-)
I think I finished this in june...
In June I also started working on models for FUMS, the first being MPM's Mörkö-Morane. It marked a start of an era, as it was my first finished model painted with an airbrush. It was then followed by a Brewster, Fokker D.XXI, Bf-109 G2...
You probably would think that a campaign building-spree would shrink my stash.
I got 6 models for the campaign when I started.
Now, after christmas, I have 7 Finnish planes in my stash...
