Hi all,

I'm making progress on my Kawanishi George by Hasegawa but am confused about the underside paint color. The instructions say silver, do they mean bare metal like a Mustang or is it something else? The paint codes are for Gunze colors and I have that silver paint but in photos I've seen the underside looks like the usual gray/sky non metallic color.

thanks

Hi Derek

Yes, "silver" would be natural metal, with grey-painted fabric surfaces on the ailerons and elevators.

I hope this helps, and here's looking forward to seeing the finished model.

All the best

Thanks!

Do you think Alclad Aluminium or MM Metalizer would be a better choice than the Gunze silver?

Hi again

All I can say is "probably" - because I've no experience with Gunze Sangyo's metallic paints. Alclad II is my personal favourite - simple to apply with an airbrush and a really robust finish.

All the best
