Hi all
some people may know me some may not, but i generally spend my time in the armour / diorama sections of the site.
I have only ever built one aircraft in my time and that ended up in a diorama.
I have been asked to build a model aircraft for a friend, having looked at the kit the panel lines are all raised, now i am sure that should not be the case.
Can anybody tell me the best way to re scribe the panel lines and keep them straight and how best to achieve the various circle and ovals that are on the body of the model or should i just leave them raised.
thanks for looking

Well the best way that works for me is to use Dymo-tape.
It is very sturdy a stiff and works well keeping a straight line. I cut the length I need, then place it onto the area that’s to be scribed. Then I use a scribing tool, can be seen in the third link. Back to the Dymo-tape, what I like about it the best is that it sticks well with no worries about movement, also you can re -use the piece 2-3 time.
This is how I do mine, works best.

Hi Keith
Mal (Holdfast) wrote an excellent round up of the various scribing methods - Scribing Made Eezee?.
Airwaves, Eduard and Verlinden all do useful scribing templates - here's a selection at Hannants.
All the best

One question I have is that if you choose to scribe over the raised lines rather than removing them first, do you scribe down the middle of the line or on either side?
