Hi all

This is a work in progress of the first profile of my new venture Secret Projects; Japanese. The Japanese Army Mansyu Ki-98.
If I could pick your brains and ask advise on relevant markings and stencils I would be most grateful. Scheme suggestions too would be considered.
I've already had masses of help from jptrr (Fred Boucher) with cockpit colours. Sincere thanks to Fred.
Many thanks
Peter

Hi Peter,
Looks very good indeed! I would think marking from any main island defence units would apply. As for paint, it looks spot on, though images I found show it having the usual IJA green/gray scheme, but for me I have always thought the camo you have looks better, like a Kawasaki "Tony". Is anyone making a model of this plane?

Hi
Derek
A&V used to make it in 1/72nd I think. If not A&V it might have been RS Models.
Furthrr question...
On the drawings there are a number of small rectangular panels around the engine area...any idea what they might be?
Exhausts? Breathers?
Thanks again
Cheers
Peter

Looks great! I am really looking forward to these features from you. Very interesting and always nice to have some "what if....." speculation.

Never thought I'd see a Mansyu Ki-98 in real life! The JAAF had so many colourful unit markings...to cut thing down a little could I humbly suggest that Home Defence units would have had first priority on the Ki-98?
eg;
http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww2/f/771/65/1 http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww2/f/771/65/1/20 http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww2/f/771/65/1/21 http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww2/f/1040/65/2/3 Colours could vary as well - Ki-84s appeared in all sorts of schemes including natural metal, green over grey, green over metal, primer red-brown over natural metal.
The sky's the limit! :-) :-) :-) Look forward to seeing the results.
