G'day,
Being given the older 48 scale AMT A20j Havoc / Boston, more like wanting something quick to build and fill in time with, [which was missing the glass nose section], having a spare 'B' glass nose, I intend to build a glass nose 'G' - in RAF colours As a WHAT IF, in my usual manner of adding this and that well before anything is painted, the following pix show the additions.
Resin seat [aka P51 Family], replacement of kit offering
PE Rudder Pedals [aka P 47 Family - left overs], drilled out kit former and CA glued to a piece of copper wire to PE parts
Copper Wire switch levers CA glued to instrument face [Not trimmed to size as yet]
Copper Wireswitch levers CA glied to cockpit sidewall [Also not trimmed as yet]
Platicard coverings to ammunition bins
Engine wiring loom
Canopy roof insert drilled out [Sadly this part broke in half when drilling out a line of holes, it'll be fixed]
All the above have since been coated in their respective colours, so the next step is to detail paint the seat and gun turret before gluing the wing halves and fuselage together

Looks really good so far. Good work on the instrument panel.
It might be because I am new to the whole aircraft thing, but I do not get the idea of drilling out the Canopy roof insert. Why did you do that?

Jesper,
The canopy roof insert on the A20's did have a series of holes cut into the plate, I only followed what would be a realistic appearence with the model subject.
Having used a 'B' nose piece, I have added some 'spare' PE and made up some boxes using PE and plasticard sheet, to add a little detail to the [non exsistant kit detail] nose of this build, as the following pix show.
Both sidewalls with additional bits add
Portside view of nose area interior
Starboardside view
Completed nose dry fitted to model.
