hi guys,
i've just applied decals to my tamiya d520. everything went on fine except the rudder tricolour decals. they were too brittle and i was too heavy handed and it ripped apart!
i have to decide between painting the tricolours or ordering a decal set. would like to hear opinions from you guys about either option. if decal, then please recommend which set to purchase.
thanks

Hi Lim Tee!
I wouldn't order decals for the rudder and paint them. That's how I do:
1 - Mask the rudder with Tamiya tape
2 - Paint the rudder overall White
3 - Mask the white area and paint the red
4 - Mask the red and paint the blue
With Acrylic paint (I use Tamiya) it's a matter of half an hour. The only real problem is to find the appropriate colors.
Do you have pictures of your model to share with us?

thanks Jean-Luc,
yes, i'm thinking of painting as well, getting the right colours will probably mean lots of paint mixing. here's a pic i just took
