Really looking the business Phil.
Its been said that this is one of the most accurate kits of the MK XVI available in 1:72.
I have it in my stash as part of the Airfix 70th Anniversary set.How have you found it up to now?

eh up nige! it goes together quite well, but the wing to fusalage join needs a bit of attention, which is further complicated by the raised panel lines, but its certainly no big deal. i have another one of these from the spit set too, and one of the four schemes on the lifelike decal sheet is for a gloss black spitfire with gold spinner and wing tips, and roundels that look like modern low-vis ones!

Looks good, Phil. However, the top picture is a bit distorded/pressed from the sides right? Otherwise the Spitfire looks to have way to short and "fat" wings?
Sounds interesting with the black and gold version Spitfire!
