Yes, I have started my aircraft.
Now anyone who knows me knows that I am a very slow builder. And being semi senile, and half brain dead I forget things--- a lot!
So this is the LF Models YMF-1 AIRACUDA. A 1/72 scale resin kit reviewed here: Kit Review

So far fit hasn't been the greatest, and has the usual assortment of pin holes. If I keep filling and sanding it will become 1/87 scale soon. A lot of the panel lines have been lost, and the resin is extremely hard and brittle.

Sorry, I forgot to take photos of the cockpit before I glued the canopy on, but cockpit is made up from resin and a few photo-etched parts.

Hi Dave!

That's a weirdo for sure! But it looks very interesting.
I believe there will be an aluminium finish on this one?

These resin kits are fun but you probably lost a few days of your life breathing the resin fumes! :-)

I remember this plane, there are 2 gunners sitting in front of the engines being deafened :-) .
I'm glad you started this one Dave, as its a very interesting and unusual aircraft.
Looking good so far. What paint will you use for the aluminium finish?

:-) Oh God, Andy, I can't even plan what I'm making for dinner! :-)
I used good old Humbrol MetalCoat for the interior, with a wash of oils over that, so will probably use that again.

I tried to re-engrave a few panel lines, so far I uncovered a few more holes, maybe another plan of attack is needed. :-)

Dave,
anything with a " CUDA " in it's name is bound to turn out fantastic! :-)

Seriously anyone with the patience, skill, and sanity to build a full resin kit gets a from me anyday.

I do not know this plane - it will be very interesting to follow. It looks like it is coming along nicely despite the holes, filling and sanding.

Looking forward to see more
