Hi Guys:
The Spitfire and the Mosquito are the AC of WW2 that I like the most. Iīm a Spitfire fan and I planned to build lots of Spits, if itīs posible all versions.
Up to now I have eight in my shelf, and I believe that in 2007 Iīll add two or three more.
I want to share this with you all so here are the pics of my Spitfire collection (all 1/48 scale):

The only thing more gracefull than a Spitfire on the ground is a Spitfire in the air. One of the most beautiful aircraft ever to take to the sky. You've done a nice job Carlos. A fine collection anyone would be proud to display.

Thats a very impressive collection of Spits youve got there Carlos and I bet they look awesome when they are displayed together.
My favourite is the 610 Sqn Tamiya MKI.
I also really like the 92 Sqn MKI diorama. I have that figure set in my stash and I intend to use it when I build my 1:48 Tamiya MKI. The car is a nice touch as well.
Great work and looking forward to seeing many more Spits from you.
Keep an eye out for the Eduard Mk22/24 kit. Its probably very hard to get hold of now as it was a very limited run,but if you see one grab it with both hands. ( I did )

Hi Guys:
Thank you all for the kind words.
Nigel: the car is the Citroen 11CV (Tamiya 1/48) Itīs a very nice kit, looks great when finished. Iīll see if here itīs available the Mk 22/24, I believe that the other day I saw one but Airfix.

Hi Carlos!
The Eduard kit is a reboxing of the Airfix Mk22/24 and it comes with a resin cockpit, coloured photo etch and some superb decalling options.
Holdfast reviewed the kit for Aeroscale HERE

very nice!!!
as well as being a good looking airplane....it's a good sounding one too.
mmmm. Rolls Royce....
our P-51s got a helping hand in the war from the Rolls Royce Merlin engines correct?
didn't they have troubles till we strapped on the merlins?
I keep remembering the movie the battle of Britain with Michael Caine....
I think I recall seeing/hearing an early model spit or Hurry doing a barrel roll and the carburetor balked a bit when upside down..in that movie....that was neat to see a bit of history in flight...
anyone remember?

Bounce & all,
Tha original Mustangs had Allison engines, making them somewhat under-powered. The marriage of the Mustang airframe & the Merlin was a world-beater. Only thing better, IMHO, was the bird this thread is about, the Spitfire!
Beauties, every one. Some day, I'll build my Spit stash.
