Hi gang
this afternoon I got my Jeep from hlj and I must say, that I like it. Especially the undercarriage (yeah I'm an a/c guy) is very nice ... seems an ideal candidate for a weekend project:

Hi Steffen!
Nice one, thanks for sharing!
It's funny to see how a little plastic kit like that can make a strong guy feel so excited! :-)
I've read your review and wonder if there is a decal sheet provided in the kit...

I see this advertised a couple of weeks ago and thought it looked pretty nice.
Are the red and white checks a decal ?
Should look pretty good in a dio.

Hi Captain and also hi to our News manager
Well, I would not say I am excited, but I've seen this kit smashed already and I must say that I like it .. it surely can get some AM help here and there .. but it is not necassary if you just put it alongside a P-47, P-51, F-84 or F-86.
Of course there is a decal sheet, but my scanner is striking right now ... maybe later.
I just started building it .. thats why my model collection is worth nothing .. I always have to get the sprues out and at least dryfit some parts .. up for a short mock up combat :-) :-) :-)
cheers

Thanks Steffan,
I also noticed that Tamiya has expanded their 1/48 vehicle line with a Russian field car/Jeep. I looks pretty nice, and would be a great addition for a dio.

A weekend project? With that checkerboard decal? And in 1:48 scale?
You have to be kidding! :-)
And if hasegawa still has the usual thickish carrier film in their decals, I'd probably ditch the decal and paint the chassis.
Some decal setting solution might be required...

Hi Steffen
LOL! A man after my own heart! I can never resist dry-fitting the parts either. So, my stash is worth considerably less than if I'd left the boxes un-opened... but where's the fun in that? Despite appearances, I do intend to actually build some kits one day! LOL!
Cheers for the first look at the Jeep - I'm keen to see how it turns out.
All the best

Hi Eetu
Well, i do not want to build a radio car, so it is just plain olive drab and no problem.
BTW some hints. If you order the kit in Japan. Make sure you get yourself a set of the Hasegawa Tritool modelling (and/or scriber) saws. The attachment points to the sprue are thick and pretty close to the parts! This is really a fun build so far .. have to get more of those
here are two pix (not all parts glued together for later painting) ... the background is the boxtop!! .. so you get a lot of paper for your money :-) :-) :-)
I am soo glad the normal html "img" tags work again ... thanks Jim!!!
best wishes
Steffen

Hi Steffen!
See, you were so excited while opening the hood to show us the engine that your hands did shake and the second picture is blurry! :-)
Jokes aside I'm looking forward to see this little gem finished...

Hi Captain
well, you know me .. it wil take months if not years to be finished ... :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
and no I was not shaky, but I mostly try to avoid the flash ... here two with
Still not all parts glued together for better painting later (e.g. dash board and engine) ... as I have no grey primer I used revell 374, which dries really slow .. so it may take a while until the next update ... the Bf 109 took 3 days .. I've fixed some blemishes on it today
cheers

A small construction update:
After I took the pix I filed the headlight to shape and glued it on .. just have to fabricate a new brsh guard. the i added the tools, the spare wheel and the gun (though I ask myself what he would do with that on a friendly air field). The model is not yet weathered and the tyres are glossy. Also the jerry can is not yet attached.
It is in a stall right now as I am struggeling to get the driver painted ...
cheers
