Sorry I wasn't able to do any in progress shots since my connection wouldn't seem to want to let me upload anything to Photobucket. Come to find out, there's a firewall of sorts in my home network's router that's standing in the way. I had to take it out of the mix for the time being and "live on the edge."

Any-hoo..... I originally was painting this bird as Georg Amon's "Seeman" of JG 53. I had a serious paint-lifting problem for whatever reason. Everytime I masked, half the paint came up with the tape. SO, instead of wasting a perfectly good kit (and the $14 Eduard p/e set therein) I held my frustration and boxed it up for about a year.

That's when I came across Eagle Strike's "In Defense of the Reich Part 4." I figured that if I sanded the remaining loose paint off I'd have parts of the RLM 74/75/76 camo scheme needed to cover with the dark green summer camo, and, subsequently, the white wash. It would be the perfect "cover-up."

I'm fairly happy with the results. I think the green that I chose should probably been more green and less black (I used RLM 70.) I may go back and do more weathering, but first, I was hoping to get some critiques. If I haven't already mentioned, this is Hasegawa's 1/48 scale G6 with Eduard p/e and True Details wheels.

Enjoy

Looks very good. I would not be able to guess this 109 was a "cover up" of your masking tape problems.

Thanks for sharing

Thanks, Jesper!

I'm pretty proud about how this turned out after all of the drama. I'm glad I stuck with it.

I love the camo scheme Justen. That one looks like it would have been hard to find in the air.
