Just wanted to say really nice job of the "jug". What scale is that kit anyway? I tend to build 1/72. A great first job, like to see some more of your work. Russell

One thing I did notice, did you intentionally leave the yellow tips off of the ends of the propellors? I was just curious, if you wanted to put them on it would be really easy to do. Take care. Russell

I would have never guessed it was your first aircraft model if you didn't say it. Nice

If someone says this is the first kit of any kind that he has build, it would be dificult to believe. It looks very well done to be your first aircraft kit. Your modeller skills are present anyhow. Welldone

I am not saying i dont know how to build a model....It is normally models like this that i build.

This just happened to be the first aircraft i have built. I have tons of kits but never really got around to building one.

Great models - both the Panther and the P-47

You got those panel lines to stand out pretty good and there seems to be some different shading of the various panels. How did you achive that?

To achieve the look that i got i really didnt do anything to special. The base color was Tamiya acrylic Flat Aluminum, to get some different shades of panels i used flat aluminum mix 1-1 with metallic grey. Then i masked off the panels and painted them. Then I painted the rest of the plane the olive and the blue. Once it was all dry i sealed the whole thing with future floor. Then i used soft pastels for the panel lines: mixing black and brown together for regular lines, then added some orange for the exhaust. Once that was done i then hit the whole thing with a shot of dullcote.

Nice job Robert. She looks good all around. The nit pick I can spot is some slight silvering on tail fin decals. Of course, this neeeever happens to me.

I knew it was there but i couldnt get rid of it....it being the silvering on the tail decal....I think the decal was bad...i glossed the plane used decal solvent and set then glossed it again and then dullcoted it.....

Hmmm... Thanks for the tips. I will try to do that on my next bird - the Tomcat.

Hi Robert.
Thats a great looking P47 youve got there.Very well done!
Academy decals are notorious for silvering, and I always use aftermarket decals on them, as the kits themselves are very good.
The only thing that I noticed extra to what the other guys have added is the angle of the main undecarriage. Its sitting a bit straight.
A picture says a thousand words so heres a side view of a Thunderbolt I built last year.

Excellent job and I look forward to seeing more from you soon!
