Okay, are the seat belts in the Viet Oh-6A in the Vietnam Campaign a sort of silvery grey ?
and at what point in its life did it get this red tail fin ?

Yup, the seat belts are a silvery gray/white color. The red-orange tail was specific to the unit. Different units used different color combos to ID their aircraft.

Color was also used for visablity/safety
Seatbelt are actually white when new, they take a silver/gray color with use(from dirt, etc.)

Seat belt color would depend on the webbing used. But most webbing for seatbelts or harness' was an off white color with either a green or black stitching 'stripe' up the middle of it Hardware would be a dull aluminum with black annodized stuff appearing in the early 80's.
