Can anybody direct me to good info for recreating one? I'm hoping to use the Italeri 1/48 Mitchell though it is a C/D version. Also, what would I need to do to represent a B variant? Were there any noticable changes to the aircraft looks wise?

Accurate Miniatures is the kit I'd look at. It has markings for each of the Doolittle planes that made the raid.

Good luck.

Ah very interesting!! Thanks Mike. I didn't think realize that the accurate miniatures kit was stil available since the Italeri is a rebox. Well thanks, I'll have to pick one of those up now

Charles.

The Acc min kits are very impressive - i have the c/d version, i've only dry fitted some of the parts, but fit and quality is fantastic, and the instructions make a god read as well.

Thanks Andy, I've been reading a PDF of the AM kit instructions online. It is very interesting information. A much better way to do it than just pictures. I havent ordered one yet, but one will be on the way very soon I'm sure.

LSOCV171945 I would be very happy to trade but I dont actually have the C/D kit. It was just an idea to use that and convert it. Sorry about that.

I built one of the Accurate Miniatures last year. The fit was great. It had nice detail and even came with some brass weights for the nose. The only thing I didn't like was the front landing gear leg was kind of weak. But that can be fixed. Good Luck to you
