Hi all,

I'm neck deep in Hasegawa's 1/48 Folgore and I could use some help on the lower color. It calls for a mix of Nakajima green and medium gray. I don't have Nakajima green, but I do have a "Pale Green" and U.S. "Interior Green". Which of these two colors would be closest? I searched Aeroscale and found no post related to this, and google did not turn up what I'm looking for. I'm trying to save a drive to the LHS, fuel prices ya know! Thanks in advance!

I have the "Veltro" (C.205) and my only reference, SAMI Vol 8 issue 8, gives the underside colour as, Grigiro Azzuro Chiaro. I have this exact colour, and all the other italian colours, from the White Ensigns Models (WEM) Colourcoats paint range. These are enamel paints and are very good. I also have their range of Japanese paints, which includes Nakajima Navy Green. This is a dark green so I don't think that "Pale Green" or "Interior Green" would do the trick? However the Dark Green used on Thunderbolt cockpits might?

Looking at the lid colour of the WEM Grigiro Azzuro Chiaro, it strikes me as being a very much greyer version of the Luftwaffes RLM 02. Comparing the to colours confirms this (to me).

The FS number on the tin of WEM Grigiro Azzuro Chiaro is FS26307.

I hope this helps

Thanks Mal,

Unfortunately I've already committed paint to the kit. Based on photos, I was able to mix the various colors (feeling a bit like the wizard Merlin) I have to get something close to what I've seen on Google. I think It looks a little light but the tone/hue is pretty much there. When I get an oil wash on, it should be acceptable, for me at least!

Thanks again and I will post pics when it is finshed

Thanks Fred,

I do have the IPMS Stockholm site book marked, but when I tried to navigate to it I kept getting a broken link. Typical. So I used this Folgore as a guide for the color. What is really funny is that I'm color blind, with red's and greens. I see colors fine, but I miss the nuances when it comes to some shades, so we will see if I got it right when I post the finished product!

Folgore I used as a reference:

Thanks again for all your help.

And Fred, I hope you win this month's MoM.
