Next the cockpit was sandwiched between the two fuselage halves, at the same time the wings were constructed and the tailplanes attached to the fuselage. Once the wings were joined to the fuselage the canopy was masked and tacked into place then a coat of Halfords white primer was applied.
I opted to airbrush the kit using Halfords Gloss Appliance White and Tamiya acrylics for the other colours. Once the colours had dried a coat of future was given to the model to give a base for the wash to be applied on. While this was drying the rockets, bombs and drop tank were constructed, primed, painted and weathered. A paines grey wash was added to the pannel lines and the excess wiped off with a cotton bud. Next the muck from the exhausts Mig Pigments soot black was used and some other wear marks were added. Sprue was then streched to create the aeriel wire and painted black. The undercarriage legs, wheels and arrester hook were then attached into place.
The final stage was to matt varnish the aircraft and unmask the canopy and attach into the open position. I decided that I wanted to build this kit for some fun so didnt do alot of referencing apart from getting a rough idea of how the exhaust stains should look. (Funnily enough just after the pics were taken I found a very thick Osprey book on the Skyraider (from 1989) on the shelving in the modelling room at cadets- I was not amused

I enjoyed the kit that much I plan to buy the three tone camoflage one Tamiya also released and do a second one.
