Hi all
There was an exciting arrival on the Review desk today - in the form of Eduard's brand new Avia B.534 III. série.
First signs are that's an absolute beauty! Great detail and superbly depicted fabric flying surfaces - complete with rib tapes and stitching.
I'll get sprue-shots uploaded tonight, so watch out for the Review very soon.
All the best

Boy oh boy.. and I am out of money ...
OTOH .. there are a lot of kits i still have to build .. several fw 190 come to mind (hope i can finish the Hasegawa kits at least)
to stick on topic .. I prefer the "razorback" machine with Slovak late war markings which claimed the last biplane kills in ww2: some Ju 52 slaughtered .. well, that's war: deadly and dirty (and no smilies here)
There is at least one aircraft that would fit in my collection, the Slovak a/c that flew with Germany against Poland.
I am looking forward to your full build review tomorrow .... mentioning all shortcommings and errors (especially counting rivets and evaluating the fabric .. I bet they did not get that right and to scale) ... you might notice a very slight tone of sarcasm here, referring to a recent discussion
best wishes
Steffen

Hi Steffen
LOL! Well, I can't promise it that soon! But I seriously have had to set the alarm clock extra early to make some building time for all the samples piling in these days! So I'll be making a start first thing in the morning.
More news on this and some other interesting (and maybe surprising for some ) builds later this week...
All the best

Hi Jean-Luc
the booklet is not bad (but overpriced IMO). Maybe try to get the HT model Special, which I think has a better value because of the many detail and wartime photos.

Hi Steffen
The HT book is what I've used as my primary reference. I got it a while back - before Eduard announced their kits - in preparation for building the old Karo-As vacuforms (I wonder if I'll ever get 'round to them now... LOL!)

Hi Steffen!
Actually I don't think the CMK book is overpriced. It costs 17€ over at Modelimex which is the price I pay for Squadron "In Action" books at my LHS. The pictures in it are big in size and of good quality and there are 3 view plans and profiles of all the B-534 versions. There is almost no text so it can't be considered an historical book but more a visual reference.
I don't know the book from HT model Special though so I can't compare both books.

Hi J-L
Well, suum cuique.
The CMK booklet is over 20 Euro here in Germany and sqn in action go for about 13. The HT Models also costs ca. 13 and is much better than the CMK booklet (IMO and yes , I have really seen it myself) .. so my choice is clear.
I did not want say anything against the CMK booklet but to point you to the HT model issue for your own comparison.
best wishes
