If it hasn't been done before, I would like to see a thread devoted to movies that show old or unusual airplanes. Not just airplane movies but films of all types that have good shots of planes that we might normally wouldn't see. I think it best to list the film, of course, and perhaps a date or an era when it was made and, natyrally, what we might expect to see. To start things off, I have two films that should be seen( and they're good movies as well as having neat planes in them)

1. Bright Eyes, starring Shirley Temple. circa 1934/6.
Excellent views of the Douglas DC-2 and Curtiss Condor

2. The Thing, 1951(not the stupid remake) has excellent views of a ski equipped Douglas DC-3

i remember that film! the P40 had a damaged wing, and could only taxi along, and the pilot went after the tank that did the damage.
but i can't remember the name either!

Chuck - Also in WotW is an in-flight shot of a North American B-45 Tornado (If my not-so-reliable memory serves).

The movie was "DEATH RACE" with Lloyd Bridges and Doug McClure in 1973.
