Hello there, I was just looking around the internet for some cockpit pictures of the Albatros D.I but no luck so far with that. I did find a few pictures of the cockpit of a D.Va but I am not sure how similar it is to the D.I. I am in the process of prepping for a Roden 1/72 build and want to scratch build a few parts to spruce up the relatively spartan interior.

These pictures are of the Smithsonian aircraft.

My Squadron publications reference has a diagram of the D.Va cockpit as well, but I was rather disappointed that they lacked diagrams for the earlier models. I also noticed an inaccuracy in their side diagram of the D.I. It has the wing height set at the same level as the later models, when in fact it was higher.

Step up to the good stuff.

The Squadron "In Action" WWI aviation series is ok for basic references but for details and current information on this subject try -

"Datafile #100. Albatros D.I/D.II by P M Grosz. Totally new book on these popular early fighters. Superb new scale plans plus extra pages and 3 pages of colour profiles - a landmark title! £10.50."

I have it on order myself.
