A beautiful shot, and I'm sure great sound to go with it. That P-38 is sure a looker isn't she! Take care. Russell

The sound that wasn't so great, was the sound the crowd made when one of the underwing fuel tanks unexpectedly fell off the F-86, as it was making a pass over the field. No one was hurt and the plane and pilot are okay.

I Bet it doesn't sound as good as when you have 9 or more Spitfire's starting up and doing a scramble? (like they do at Duxford Flying Legends) Can't wait till July

Chris - I wish I knew how to use Photoshop that well, and could build models that look that good.

Allen - Years ago they used to have a multi aircraft engine start on the "ready line" near the crowd, but alas the noise was too much for some, so no more

The lead aircraft P-38F "Glacier Girl" should be leaving here soon for her Trans Atlantic flight to Duxford. The aircraft in the foreground is is the "resident" P-38J at Planes of Fame "23 Skiddo" formerly "Porky II". The aircraft in the background is Jack Croul's P-38L, one of the many visitor aircraft that fly in for the show.

A note to any of you who may be attending the IPMS convention in Anaheim this August. You owe it to yourself to schedule at least one day to go see Planes of Fame, it's only a half hour drive away from the convention center.
