I would like to build an aircraft kit (for the first time) and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with HobbyBoss aircraft kits.. as I'm interested in either their 1/48 A-10 or F-18. I just need some info regarding their fit... ease of building... and if they are good enough out-of-the-box.

Thank you.

Hisham, I have the Hobby Boss A-10 and it looks to be a great kit, though I have yet to start it. That being said though, I'll give you the same advice that was given to me when I asked about my first aircraft build. Start with a prop plane. I didn't heed the advice and started with a Revell A-10. I ended up trashing the kit. Then I picked up a Tamiya P-47 Thunderbolt and have enjoyed every minute of the build.

Hope this helps.

Hi Hisham,
Like Cary I also have the Hobby Boss A-10, the N/AW version one (just about to start mine). They look to be great kits as they are basically scaled down 1/32nd Trumpeter A-10's, but as a first aircraft kit, I would suggest something a little easier to start with.
Tamiya make great fitting kits, Academy kits I have never had serious problems with (apart from the decals) and the last kit I built was the Hobby Boss Mirage IIICJ, that went together well, was pretty simple and looks pretty good (even for me ).

Should be a build review of this kit on the site soon.

Thanks for the advice, guys. I guess Tamiya is known for good fitting kits. Maybe I should start with one of their kits.

Thanks again.
