greetings everyone I'm kinda at a crossroads here. Currently I'm starting on a 1/48 Italeri F/A-18E Super Hornet. I'm using a Black Box aftermarket cockpit set (my 1st project with resin, scary!!) and C.A.M. decals for the VFA-115 Eagles squadron. Judging from the picstures on the US Navy's website, the plance is currently on the Lincoln supporting Enduring Freedom. Now, I know the Super Hornets are a relatively new aircraft, so I was wondering how far should I go in terms on weathering? Also, this would be my 1st experiment in weathering (even scarier!!) Any help appreciated, thanks everyone

I once read an article on weathering a hornet and the main thing the guy did was to accentuate the panel lines by spraying with Tamiya smoke with the airbrush set on fine. He followed the panel lines but the fine overspray really made the result look effective. Sorry I can't remember which modelling magazine it was in.

Hi guys,
well i'd say leave the weathering light around the entire airframe, just put some grease around the struts at the lub points. I actual worked in a squadron and the conditions of some models of US Navy aircraft are attrotious. Post flight wipers is nessecary to detect problems with aircraft so actully they are kept clean the only thing i'd really suggest is to vary the tone of paint because of maintaince!!!! Safety regulation only allow sqadron personell to paint only part of the aircraft at a time!!! good luck stug
