DFS 40 LIPPISCH Delta-V
Scale: 1/72
Released: March2011
History
Designed in 1937 by Alexander Lippisch, the flying wing Delta-V was conceived to improve the flight's study started with the Delta-IV (DFS-39) With its Argus engine in the fuselage and a push propeller, its shape will run to the DFS-194 and the Me-163 Komet. After a long time of tests without engine, which have revealed that the machine was flying well, the pilot Heini Dittmar realized the first motorized flight in 1939. At this time Lippisch had left DFS to work at Messerschmitt and his successors misunderstood the place of the gravity center, so the plane went into a flat gimlet, fortunately without killing the pilot. Two years later, October the 2nd of 1941, Heini Dittmar was the first pilot to reach 1000km/h with a Me-163 A.
