MPM Production have sent us details of their latest line-up, with some really interesting Special Hobby kits released this month, along with a range of separately sold colour photo-etch detail sets.

Except of the regularly packed new releases April newsletter also brings you a pair of kits that will be packed together. We already tried such a thing last year (SH72211 P-40F/Kittyhawk Mk.II 2 in 1). But now it'll be the first of Duo Pack kits. The box of such a kit will always contain two different kits, even if somehow connected together either by markings, deployment or other common element. We plan to release several Duo Packs this year.

We would like to inform our business that Azur A055 Vautour IIN „IDF All Weather Fighter“ 1/72 and A056 Vautour IIB „Armée de l' Air Jet Bomber“ 1/72 kits are completely sold out and currently we do not stock any of them. Due to the extreme interest for these kits we decided to offer you pre-order of the second production batch. If you order these kits till April 25, 2012 and we receive sufficient amount of orders we'll be able to deliver these pre-ordered kits up to July 1, 2012. If we do not receive sufficient amount of order the second production batch will not be produced.

April new releases:

SH72246 SAAB A-21R "Attack Version" 1/72
Soon after the introduction of the jet J-21R fighters Swedish Air Force realized that due to its low range, low Mach number airframe and inferior flight characteristics above 6,000 m, J-21R is not suitable for interceptor role. Since the new aircraft featured excellent flight characteristics in low altitudes, with high stability and maneuverability just above the surface it was decided to change it assignment to Attack wings. The aircraft were handed over to attack wing F7 and re-designated to A-21R. Later on, even F17 wing received these aircraft intended for training on the new SAAB 32 Lansen. A-21R served with Swedish Air Force until 1954. For ground attacks A-21Rs were equipped with various armaments.

The machine gun pod was already included in J-21R kit (SH72207). Further armament, this time mainly rockets are included in the new sprue that was produced from metal mould. This new sprue contains two types of rockets with racks and 250 kg bomb. The bomb was carried by older J-21A-3 fighters that were equipped with bomb sights.

The kit contains three sprues with grey plastic parts, opened injected canopy, resin and photo-etched parts. Decals included offer three machines from F7 wing and one from F17 wing. Markings of these machines comprise numbers on the noses and letters on the tailplanes all for Swedish Air Force machines.

SH48129 T-2 Buckeye „Camouflaged Trainer“ 1/48
Several generations of US Navy and US Marines pilots were trained in this tireless workhorse, the legendary T-2 Buckeye. If it would have featured digitalized cockpits it would served with US Navy and US Marines even today. Except of its common trainer role in white and red outfit the T-2 aircraft flew or still flies in different colors. T-2s served with US Navy VF-43 Challengers, the Aggressor unit that operates from NAS Oceania. This unit's T-2s served in typical camouflage consisting of various grey colors. Export version T-2D for Venezuela and T-2E for Greece received camouflage of two greens and earth brown on upper surfaces and light grey on lower ones. The Greek machines are equipped with gun sight and some of the even carry weapon pylons.

The kit contains same parts as SH48119 kit (T-2 Buckeye „Red&White Trainer“) but also contains more photo-etched parts and resin parts feature T-2E gun sight and pylons. Decals included offer two Greek T-2E machines, Venezuelan T-2D and VF-43 Challengers aircraft.

SH48124 Fokker D.XXI Duo Pack „3. sarja & 4. sarja over Finland“ 1/48
Seven Fokkers D.XXI were delivered to Finland in 1937. Three years later, Finnish government ordered license production of this aircraft powered by Mercury engine in National Aviation Factory (Valtion Lentokonetehdas). In total, forty two Fokkers powered by Mercury engine served in Finland. Due to the shortage and deliver troubles with Mercury engines, Pratt & Whitney Twin Wasp Junior engine was adopted to this aircraft in Finland. The first machine of this purely Finnish version was test flown in January 1941. Trials revealed that the aircraft is slower and less maneuverable than the original Dutch version. Eventually, only 50 machines of this version were produced. Both versions were significant for Finnish Air Force.

Duo Pack brings you both versions of Fokker XXI in one box. You can choose between wheel or ski undercarriage. Decals contain three interesting camouflages for each version. Resin parts for Mercury version also contain slots for this Finnish version.

SH72241 Vickers/CASA type 245 Spanish Vildebeest with Floats 1/72
Vickers Vildebeest was RAF's land torpedo bomber version. Spain was interested in this machine since it would fit its Navy Air Force's needs. Spain required installation of Hispano-Suiza 12L in-line engine with 600 Hp (448 kW) power output. According to the Spanish specifications, Vickers designed new version designated Type 245. Two prototypes were built and trialed in Britain. Both were designed with exchangeable wheel or float undercarriage. Spain purchased both prototypes and license production for 25 machines to be produced in CASA Company in Getafa. Republican Air Force used mainly wheeled Vildebeest version but also two machines equipped with floats. These two machines were assigned to Grupo 73 and served for Spanish Coastal patrols. They received codes T-16 and T-17, respectively. Only two Vildebeests survived the war, one of them was equipped with floats.

The kit of this interesting machine contains plastic parts, resin and photo-etched parts. Decals included offer markings for T-16 overall in aluminum color with unit emblem on both sides of the fuselage and markings for T-17 that featured almost surreal wavelet camouflage pattern.

K48003 CAC CA-13 Boomerang 1/48 Color photo-etched parts are intended for SH48074 CA-12 Boomerang and SH48117 CA-13 Boomerang kits.
