Trumpeter have released the dates of 3 new Cats to their already impressive 1/32nd scale range of aircraft kits.
Having already released the Grumman F4F-3 Wildcat late version and the F4F-4 Wildcat, the new release gives you the option to model the Early F4F-3.

2256 1/32 Grumman F6F-3 "Hellcat" Fighter
he Hellcat proved to be the most successful aircraft in naval history, destroying 5,163 aircraft in service with the US Navy and US Marine Corps, plus 52 with the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm during World War II. After the end of the war, the Hellcat was rapidly phased out of front line service, finally retiring in 1954 as a night-fighter in composite squadrons. Kit includes 364 parts on 10 sprues, photo etched parts, clear engine cover & optional folding wings and flaps.

Cmdr D. McCampbell, CVG-15 Essex, Oct 1944
Lt Cmdr A. Vraciu VF-6 USS Intrepid Feb 1944.
Completed kit measures over 12” long with a wingspan of over 20”.

2258 1/32 Grumman F6F-3N "Hellcat" Night Fighter
The US needed a nighttime fighter to fend off nocturnal Japanese raids on US ships. This variant of the Hellcat had an APS-6 radar system installed, an IFF transponder, a flat windscreen that doubled as a gun-sight and a changed instrument panel that had a central radar display.
Kit consists of 377 parts on 10 sprues, a photo etched parts, clear engine cover, optional fold-able wings and flaps.
Markings are for -
No. 319 USS Solomon Islands 1944
No. 6 VF(N)-76 USS Charger 1944.
Completed kit measure same as #2256 above.
