Zoukei-mura has posted a update of their progress on the amazing looking 1/32 scale Ki-45 Toryu
”The Ki-45 Toryu 3D sample exhibited at the venue [Scale model World] came back home safely.
Heavily rooted in the hearts of 1/32 fans, meet that Ki-45 on this blog once again.
This is a test-shot made with a 3D printer but it gives an idea of what the kit will be like; I feel shaken off just by looking at it. Ki-45 Kit is divided into short nose and long nose and we will bring you both types with their different armaments. Despite being a Japanese Aircraft we heard many "I can't wait for it" at the event. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Expect a Ki-45 model like you've never seen it before!
How was it? This were we are with Ki-45, the Type 2 Two-Seat Fighter of the Japanese Imperial Air Force with its beautiful but sad history. Now, the last check for part shaping, mold alignment, assembling order, and finally we'll give the green light.
Nevertheless, compared to the Hs 129 developed simultaneously, the Japanese aircraft shows a particular, delicate fuselage structure. I'm speechless when I imagine the rigor of the development required by the Japanese Imperial Army willing to have a high-performing twin-engine fighter.
If there's no big problem with the development, we may finally start to work on the tooling!”
