Key Publishing has announced the shock news that the current issue of Air Enthusiast is to be the last.
Since its inception in the early 1970s, this UK magazine has held a unique position among aviation journals. Put simply, Air Enthusiast covered a wider range of often quite esoteric topics, in greater depth, than the other magazines available on the UK domestic market.
But all that is to end; by its specialist nature, Air Enthusisat attracted a dedicated, but sadly too small share of the market and its publishers have been forced into the unhappy decision to cease publication.
The title Air Enthusiast will be incorporated into the masthead of sister-magazine Air International - but this has previously catered to a very different readership, so quite how much of the content and style of Air Enthusiast will survive remains to be seen.
