MiG-21MFN Caslav Air Base Czech Tiger Camouflage Paint Masks 1/48th
Suggested scale - 1/48th
Suggested kits - Any MiG-21MF in 48th scale, best suited for Eduard MiG-21MF/MFN kits.
Price - $18-99
SKU - 48/827-056
Re-usable die-cut camo mask set
The set includes two sheets of masks (shown in the picture). The masks are made from thin masking tape, which is easy to be peeled off and doesn’t leave any stains. The tape is tested on clear and painted model too. If carefully removed after painting, they can be used over and over again. Material is flexible and easily applied over curved surfaces. Semi-transparent for easy and accurate placing.
The Czech Tiger camouflage was a demo scheme applied on a MiG-21MFN, a modernized version of the serial production MiG-21MF used by the Czech Air Force. Ten airplanes were modified to the standard in 1999 and the Czech Tiger scheme was applied for 45 year anniversary of Caslav Air Base in October 2002. This particular airplane was retired in 2005, after being in service since 1975.
The Paint Mask set features the spots and the numbers. For the blue letter and the tiger head decals should be used which are not included in this set. The set features corrected spots, based on the real aircraft and avoiding discrepancies seen on the decals currently on the market. If carefully applied and removed, masks can be re-used and allow of corrections and further use. In addition to that, the set features bort number “2500” and Czech Air Force roundels.
The MiG-21MFN is a modification based on the MF version of the famous Soviet jet fighter. We suggest using Eduard’s latest tooling, since this is the most accurate and correct kit currently available. However, masks can be used with any MiG-21MF in 72nd scale in order to replicate the MFN version of the Czech Air Force. Czech Tiger was released by different manufacturers, featuring decals for the spots, which this set can alter for better realism.
